at the DOS prompt (without the quotation marks).
What Job Summary? is a tool to help you keep track of jobs for which
you are contracted or sub-contracted. WJS gives you an easy way to
track summary information about your jobs; the estimating and details
are left entirely up to you. WJS then provides reports for the banker
and bonding company as well as to help analyze your work load.
WJS can track up to 2.6 million jobs per year, which is a limit of
the numbering system used; your practical limit will be determined by
your computer speed & hard disk capacity and will probably be in the
under-10,000-jobs-per-year range. For each of these jobs WJS has a
place to enter the relevant bid, cost, and income figures - somewhat
like a spreadsheet. Since WJS is not an estimating or billing package,
it seems reasonable to assume that you will have total amounts
calculated from another programme (or by hand). So WJS does not attempt
to duplicate the functions of these other software packages, but rather
it takes totals and puts them all neatly in one place and prints reports
which are probably not available in your other software packages.
Late-Breaking News
──────────────────
02/25/94 ── 1.2h Enhanced printer drivers & setup
01/06/94 ── 1.2g Minor bugs fixed; more printers supported
05/09/93 ── 1.2e Added lines-per-page setting for printer; improved
context-sensitive help
04/20/93 ── 1.2c WJS can be run from any directory, data files will be
specific to a directory. This way you can track
different companies in seperate directories without
duplicating the programme files, or you may want you
data files in a seperate directory for easy back-up.
File List

WJS.HLP Help file
PRINTER.DAT Printer definitions
FKEY.LST Support file (function key list)
ORDER.FRM Order form for all of my software

The above files may be copied & shared freely as a complete, unmodified
set. Files marked with [*] are not needed during operation of WJS and may be
deleted from a disk if space is a premium, however, please include _all_ of
the files in copies of WJS you distribute. I would appreciate it if you
would keep the ORDER.FRM file handy on your disk until you decide whether
WJS suits your needs. Thank you!
The Registered Edition is provided with the file CONFIG.WJS which
contains the registration "stamp." CONFIG.WJS is to be used only by the
registered user ── please do not distribute.
Installation Notes
──────────────────
If you received your copy of WJS on disk it has an installation programme
on it. Using INSTALL is faster than installing/updating manually and it
will not touch your AUTOEXEC or CONFIG. Just put the floppy in a drive and
type "d:INSTALL" where "d:" is the floppy drive letter (e.g., "A:").
If you have received WJS from a bulletin board, it should be extracted
into its own directory for the sake of organization. Then just type WJS
and set your Preferences.
Documentation Files
───────────────────
If you have WordPerfect 5, just load WJS.WP. Instructions to reformat
and print are in a comment at the top of the file. If you don't have
WordPerfect or a way to convert the WJS.WP file to your word processor, then
just "TYPE WJS.TXT > PRN" at the DOS prompt to print WJS.TXT, which is an
ASCII file generated from WordPerfect for a "standard printer."
