  13.     What Job Summary? is a tool to help you keep track of jobs for which
  14. you are contracted or sub-contracted.  WJS gives you an easy way to
  15. track summary information about your jobs; the estimating and details
  16. are left entirely up to you.  WJS then provides reports for the banker
  17. and bonding company as well as to help analyze your work load.

  19.     WJS can track up to 2.6 million jobs per year, which is a limit of
  20. the numbering system used; your practical limit will be determined by
  21. your computer speed & hard disk capacity and will probably be in the
  22. under-10,000-jobs-per-year range.  For each of these jobs WJS has a
  23. place to enter the relevant bid, cost, and income figures - somewhat
  24. like a spreadsheet.  Since WJS is not an estimating or billing package,
  25. it seems reasonable to assume that you will have  total amounts
  26. calculated from another programme (or by hand).  So WJS does not attempt
  27. to duplicate the functions of these other software packages, but rather
  28. it takes totals and puts them all neatly in one place and prints reports
  29. which are probably not available in your other software packages.

  64.     The above files may be copied & shared freely as a complete, unmodified
  65. set. Files marked with [*] are not needed during operation of WJS and may be
  66. deleted from a disk if space is a premium, however, please include _all_ of
  67. the files in copies of WJS you distribute.  I would appreciate it if you
  68. would keep the ORDER.FRM file handy on your disk until you decide whether
  69. WJS suits your needs.  Thank you!

  71.     The Registered Edition is provided with the file CONFIG.WJS which
  72. contains the registration "stamp."  CONFIG.WJS is to be used only by the
  73. registered user ── please do not distribute.

  76. Installation Notes
  77. ──────────────────
  78.     If you received your copy of WJS on disk it has an installation programme
  79. on it.  Using INSTALL is faster than installing/updating manually and it
  80. will not touch your AUTOEXEC or CONFIG.  Just put the floppy in a drive and
  81. type "d:INSTALL" where "d:" is the floppy drive letter (e.g., "A:").

  83.     If you have received WJS from a bulletin board, it should be extracted
  84. into its own directory for the sake of organization.  Then just type WJS
  85. and set your Preferences.

  87. Documentation Files
  88. ───────────────────
  89.     If you have WordPerfect 5, just load WJS.WP.  Instructions to reformat
  90. and print are in a comment at the top of the file.  If you don't have
  91. WordPerfect or a way to convert the WJS.WP file to your word processor, then
  92. just "TYPE WJS.TXT > PRN" at the DOS prompt to print WJS.TXT, which is an
  93. ASCII file generated from WordPerfect for a "standard printer."
